The Perla solves a small apartment problem: your cat wants a bed and you have no floor to give. Hanging the basket moves it off the ground entirely, into space that was doing nothing, and puts your cat at the elevated height they prefer anyway.
The bamboo weave is light enough to hang safely and rigid enough to hold its bowl shape under a full grown cat. Semi enclosed sides give shelter on three sides while the open front keeps the cat in visual command of the room, which is the combination that actually gets used.
It works year round. The open weave lets heat escape through summer, and the curved walls trap a cat's own body warmth once they have curled up in the colder months.
