The Skein is knitted rather than moulded, so it moves. The walls flex outward when a cat leans into them and pull back when the cat leaves, which means one bed accommodates a cat that sleeps curled tight and a cat that sprawls across the whole thing.
Chunky knit holds air between the loops, and that trapped air is what makes it warm without being heavy. It insulates against a cold floor far better than a thin fabric mat, and it does not compress into a hard pad the way stuffed beds do after a few months.
At 17 inches across it is sized for a single cat rather than pretending to fit two, and at four inches deep it sits low enough that a kitten or an older cat can step in rather than climb. Neutral grey against most flooring and furniture.
